EcoMint, a climate-tech startup leveraging blockchain transparency, has announced the launch of its Real-Time Carbon Marketplace (RTCM) — a platform that enables businesses, individuals, and institutions to purchase verified carbon credits backed by live IoT emissions data. The initiative aims to tackle the long-standing issues of carbon credit fraud, double-counting, and outdated verification cycles.
RTCM integrates with environmental sensors installed in forests, industrial facilities, renewable plants, and conservation areas. These sensors transmit data directly to the blockchain every 60 seconds, enabling the platform to calculate accurate, real-time carbon offset values. Each verified offset is tokenized as an EMT-Credit, which can be traded or retired on-chain.
